A mix between pop music and Reggaeton was released in the year 2017 by singer from Puerto Rico Luis Fonsi with Daddy Yankee. The song was the top-streamed song at the in just six months. The Billboard Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs in 2016, compared with two for 2015. However, during the heights of Despacito's fame in the year 2017 there were 19 mostly Spanish tracks which made it into the Top 100. In 2020, there were 41. After Justin Bieber's remix in two languages to Despacito (2017) popular musicians soon started collaborating with reggaeton performers including Drake with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna and Maluma on Medellin (2019). In the year 2020, a handful of reggaeton performers were lamenting the genre's direction toward the mainstream. However, a younger generation of performers, including Rauw Alejandro was determined to continue the evolution of reggaeton. The group incorporated elements from different styles and electronic music.
